ABOUT COW

Community Outreach at West (COW) is a student run organization at Parkway West High School based on volunteering and philanthropy. COW tries to reach all different communities through our volunteer work and donations whether it be our school community, our Parkway community, our St. Louis community, or our sister communities across the globe. We try to push our members out of their comfort zones to see the life and all of the people in it.

COW has always been an important orgnization at West. It is unique in the fact that it is open to all students at West regardless of grade level or GPA. We try to have the largest impact possible, so we are open to all.

The 2013-2014 school year was the first year back for COW after a two year hiatus. With all past officers already graduated, the COW officers had to start from scratch. Besides donating over 800 items to victims of the Oklahoma tornados, raising and donating over $400 for the Typhoon Haiyan victims, and donating over 200 winter coats to the needy of St. Louis, COW arranged the first ever inter-Parkway high school collaboration between community service clubs. Parkway Cash for Cancer (C4C) was a joint effort between all the Parkway high schools to raise money for Friends of Kids with Cancer. Through this collaboration turned competition, the Parkway high schools, lead by COW, were able to raise over $2,000 for FOKWC in only four days.
